Amy Kozol Sanderson

Ballet 5:8 Executive Director

Mrs. Amy Kozol Sanderson is one of the founding directors of Ballet 5:8. Originally from outside of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. Sanderson studied dance at the school of Ballet Quad Cities in Rock Island, Illinois under the direction of former Artistic Director Johanne Jakhellen Constant. Mrs. Sanderson went on to perform with Ballet Quad Cities, Ballet Magnificat!, and later Ballet 5:8 during the company's first performing seasons. During her performing career, Mrs. Sanderson danced several soloist roles created for her including Miep in Johanne Jakhellen's The Story of a Young Girl’s Life, an original ballet based on the Diary of Anne Frank, and The Accuser in Julianna Slager's The Story of Job. Mrs. Sanderson received her BA in Professional Writing and Business Administration from St. Mary of the Woods College in Terra Haute, IN. She currently lives on Chicago's near south side with her husband Clayton.
