Guest instructor Ms. Lara Faucher will be teaching Ballet Technique, Pointe, and Classical Variations classes for Ballet 5:8’s Summer Intensive 2017.
Lara Faucher is an Adjunct Professor at Grand Valley State University in the Department of Music and Dance. Lara is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She is also the Resident Dance Artist at the Holland Area Arts Council where she offers privates and consulting. She also travels as a guest teacher and choreographer throughout the State of Michigan. Lara was Founder and Artistic Director of Turning Pointe School of Dance in Holland, Michigan, from 1999 to the Spring of 2014. During this time, she developed an intensive curriculum for ballet and choreographed nine full length ballets while having the privilege to mentor and train many students into professional careers in dance.
Lara Faucher began her training with the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet under the direction of Charthel Arthur and Robert Estner. She received additional training from renowned teachers such as Sally Seven, Cherie Noble, George DeLaPena, Rebecca Wright, Paul Sutherland, Beatrice Rodriguez, Edward Villella and Trinette Singleton. Her continued studies took her to the Joffrey and Ballet Magnificat. Lara danced professionally with Ballet Magnificat! touring throughout the United States and Canada. After dancing professionally, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hope College with a B.A. in Performance/Choreography. She is the recipient of the Florence Cavanaugh Award in 1998 and the H.J.Kuiper Award in 2002.
