What is Christian Yoga?
Christian Yoga is similar to traditional forms of Yoga in that is uses different positions, movements and breathing to promote physical fitness in the body. However, Christian Yoga is rooted firmly in Scripture and is focused on connecting our entire being, body, mind and spirit with God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. While practicing Christian Yoga, we set our minds on on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy (Phil 4:8). We meditate on the wisdom of God’s Word (Psalm 119:9-16, 26-27). We seek the transcendence and glory of God, not our own. The purpose of Christian Yoga is to facilitate a Christ honoring experience that offers an opportunity to believers and non-believers alike to authentically connect to God through His Word, worship, and wellness.
This class is part of Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts’ Adult Class program and is part of a six-week Christian Yoga Spring Series. The cost $15 per class; no pre-registration is required.
