Hannah Welch is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. She holds a BFA in dance performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the direction of Ethan Stiefel and Brenda Daniels. Hannah has trained across the United States with American Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Charlotte Ballet, Complexions, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, and Keigwin + CO. She has had the privilege to perform classical repertoire by Marius Petipa, Jerome Robbins, Agnes DeMille, Jose Limon, and Twyla Tharp as well as premier original roles by Susan McCullough, Brenda Daniels, Helen Simoneau, Larry Keigwin, and Ted Thomas. As a professional artist in New York City, Hannah performed with Inclined Dance Theatre, Thomas/Ortiz Dance, and Gibney Dance. She is currently an independent performance artist and educator as well as the Artistic Director of Awakening Movement. She is grateful and honored for the opportunity to share her knowledge and passion for movement.
