A Refreshing Look at the Fun-Filled Coppélia | Saturday, May 7 & Sunday, May 8

Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts' newest full-length story ballet, The Toymaker, is a refreshing new story ballet with music from the fun-filled ballet Coppélia. Thanks to the delightful original score by Léo Delibes, spirited choreography inspired by Marius Petipa, and a story about a magical toymaker, the ballet brings out the best of the old and the new for a charming experience for the whole family. The production features a cast of over 100 students from Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts classical ballet training programs, all-new handmade costumes and sets, and choreography by Ballet 5:8 Artistic Director Julianna Slager.

Summer Intensive

Ballet 5:8's Summer Intensive is structured to provide dancers with the serious classes and training hours needed to not just "keep up" technique, but to make gains, expand artistry, and engage with many different styles of dance and choreography along the way. Thanks to regular times during the program set aside for worship, Bible study, and fellowship in small groups, Summer Intensive at Ballet 5:8 is not only about dance, but a special opportunity for dancers to gain new friends, dig into God's word, and press into their faith.

This fun, upbeat performance showcases the accomplishments of students throughout the year and is an uplifting time of worship and encouragement for audience members.

Summer Workshop

Intensive for Ages 7-14

Summer Workshop is structured to help attendees brush up on their ballet technique over the summer months, expand their sense of acting, performance quality and artistry, and engage with many different styles of dance and choreography.

Summer Classes

Classes for Ages 3 through Adult

We often think of summer months as a perfect time for things like swimming, hiking, canoeing, soccer or baseball camp, vacation Bible school, or if you’re a little older, a youth retreat. These things are great, but summer can also be a fantastic time for summer dance classes and camps!
