Master Class with Valerie Robin

Join us on Friday, March 24 for an Advanced Master Class with Former Joffrey Ballet Dancer Valerie Robin!

Renowned artist Valerie Robin won a bronze medal in the 1990 New York International Ballet Competition, and at the 1992 Varna International Ballet Competition, she became one of the first Americans to reach the finals in 10 years. Ms. Robin danced in Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, Leiziger Ballets, Kieler Ballets and Ballet Wisconsin before joining the Joffrey Ballet in 2000. Her repertoire included leading roles in works by Arpino, Joffrey, Balanchine, Ashton, Kylian, Lubovitch, Tharp, Christopher Wheeldon, James Kudelka, Ronald Hynd, Yuri Possakhov, Uwe Scholtz and Jerome Robbins. She danced the majority of the Classics including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Les Sylphides, La Sylphide, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Suite en Blanc and Grand pas Classique. She was also cast as a member in the film “The Company” directed by Robert Altman and created the leading role in Rebecca Aleman’s short film “Basta!”. Ms. Robin celebrated the end of a 26 year professional dancing career in Spring of 2013. She has taught all levels of ballet from creative movement to professional company classes with Leipziger Ballets, Ballet Wisconsin, Kieler Ballets and Joffrey Ballet.

The master class is open to the public and includes ballet technique (2 hours) and pointe (1 hour). Attendees should be at least 14 years of age and taking ballet technique at an advanced, pre-professional level a minimum of four days per week.

Registration for the class is $35 and can be completed online by following the link below. Registration for the ballet technique class only is $25.
