Conservatory Program Audition

  • Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts 20517 South La Grange Road Frankfort, IL, 60423 United States (map)

Attention Dancers Ages 13-18!

Join us on Wednesday, June 21 from 5:30-8:00pm for an opportunity to join Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts' Conservatory and Studio Company for the 2017/18 school year.

The audition-only Conservatory Program take dancers through the most advanced levels of our ballet training syllabus, giving dancers the comprehensive technical and artistic training needed to advance to careers in professional dance and pursue a variety of career opportunities in dance-related fields. Typically attended by high school students, the Conservatory includes up to 25 hours per week of training, Monday-Friday, in classical ballet and supplementary disciplines. Classes begin as early as 2:15pm, promoting the optimal physical and mental progression of the advanced student (dancers must apply for early-release from their high school or enroll in nontraditional academic options for the completion of high school). Conservatory dancers take advantage of extensive performing opportunities, including vying for corps de ballet roles in some Ballet 5:8 professional productions. Dancers perform in a range of classical and contemporary Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts productions each year and may also attend the annual Regional Dance America conference.
