Biography

Ms. Margaret grew up in Minnesota. She started dancing when she was 8 years old, teaching and assisting when she was 16, and choreographing when she was 18.  She moved to Illinois to train at Ballet 5:8 under the direction of Julianna Rubio Slager, and to grow as a dancer and artist. In the 2022/2023 year she underwent training at Ballet 5:8 in teaching the Vaganova method and directing rehearsals. She completed the certification process, and began teaching in the Pre-Professional division in 2023.  Ms. Margaret has had opportunities to choreograph for Ballet 5:8’s Second Company and other local studios.  She helped choreograph a full-length ballet, The Littlest Nutcracker, in 2021, which just completed its third Christmas production.  Ms. Margaret loves being able to help craft the next generation in doing what they love, and also enjoys helping instill in her students a passion for the technique, artistry, dynamics, and musicality that encompass ballet.
