Inside the Summer Intensive

Are you a passionate adult ballet dancer or teacher who wants to spend a weekend learning and growing this summer? Look no further! Ballet 5:8's new Adult Ballet Summer Intensive includes ballet classes taught by Julianna Rubio Slager and the exceptional Ballet 5:8 faculty. Classes include ballet, repertoire, pointe/pre-pointe, contemporary, Progressing Ballet Technique, strength training and seminars on fueling for dance, safe stretching for adults, and a variety of other topics to support your dance journey.

Sample Schedule:

10:00-11:30am Ballet Class
11:30-12:30pm Pointe, Pre-pointe or Progressing Ballet Technique
12:30-1:00pm Lunch Break
1:00-2:00pm Repertoire, Contemporary or Seminar

Julianna Rubio Slager

Artistic Director
Ms. Julianna is a strong believer that ANYONE can dance! She is known for bringing a wholistic and scientific approach into the classroom. Her class is lauded as one that “really dances” and is a great fit for dancers of all levels.
Austin Crumley

Former Pro Dancer and Master Teacher
Austin is passionate about changing the dance world through science and pedagogy. His classes challenge the status quo by truly allowing dancers to have a voice in their own learning journey. He is experienced teaching dancers of all levels and hopes to encourage each dancer to bring their curiousity to class!
Miranda Opsal

Ballet 5:8 Company Artist
Miranda Opsal is a current dancer with Ballet 5:8, and a truly gifted teacher. She teaches at the School of Ballet 5:8, and has a gift for making each student feel valued appreciated. She’s excited to be teaching contemporary and repertoire at the first Ballet 5:8 Adult Ballet Intensive!
