Your First Ballet Class

Welcome to the School!

It’s your first day! So many amazing dancers have walked these halls, and we’re excited for you to join this community. This page has helpful tips and pointers for your first class. Parents are welcome in the lobby and are encouraged to watch their dancer through our video screen in the lobby! It’s a great way to get a peek inside the classroom while you wait for your student to finish class.

Get to Know Ballet 5:8

We’re so glad you’ve chosen to dance at the School of Ballet 5:8. There’s so much to discover about yourself through dance! Class Checklist

Before Your Class:

  1. Schedule a Placement Class

    • Contact the School of Ballet 5:8 to schedule your placement class.

  2. Mark Your Calendar

    • Note the date, time and address of your class. Remember we have multiple campuses! Be sure to go to the correct one.

  3. Know What to Wear

  4. Learn How to Make a Ballet Bun

  5. Arrive 15 Minutes Early

    • Give yourself enough time to get settled and prepare for the class.

When You Arrive:

  1. Check-In with the Front Desk

    • Let the staff know you have arrived for your class.

  2. Put on Dance Shoes

    • Change into your ballet slippers before heading to the studio.

  3. Meet Your Teacher

    • The teacher will meet dancers in the front lobby and walk them back to the studios.

  4. Register in JackRabbit
