Creating The Dreamer | Margarita Mora

School of Ballet 5:8 student Margarita Mora shares about becoming her character in The Dreamer, which premieres May 28 at Lincoln-Way West High School.

Who is your character in The Dreamer?
I am dancing the role of Naphtali, one of Joseph’s brothers.

What has been the most interesting or challenging part about portraying your character?

I think the character development throughout the story has been really interesting to portray. Joseph’s brothers start out disliking him, but by the end of the ballet, we are happy at being reunited with him.

Which scene is your favorite and why?

My favorite scenes to dance are all the pieces in act three. The music is very grand and it truly gives the feeling of being in a Pharaoh’s palace.

Why do you think audiences should see The Dreamer?

The Dreamer is a unique retelling of a beautiful bible story. The music and choreography are exciting, and the story of God turning a bad situation into a beautiful one is inspiring!

The Dreamer is choreographed by Julianna Rubio Slager and co-choreographed by instructors at the School of Ballet 5:8. See it May 28-29, 2022 at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, IL.
