Focus on Your Tendus | Pro Tip from Cecilia Iliesiu
Our current School of Ballet 5:8 Featured Guest, Cecilia Iliesiu, is a soloist with Pacific Northwest Ballet. Learn from Cecilia how a professional dancer thinks, trains, and stays motivated. Cecilia's first tip is advice for technique class.
Cecilia Says:
Focus on your tendus.
This may seem silly, but I see tendus as the basis of most ballet steps.
Really use the floor as you brush out to the position. Rotate your legs to the turn-out that is appropriate for you.
This way, when you move faster (in degagés, grand battements, rond de jambes, etc.) you have the proper muscle activation.
