Creating The Dreamer | April Sakell

Ballet 5:8 Trainee April Sakell shares about becoming her character in The Dreamer, which premieres May 28 at Lincoln-Way West High School.

Who is your character in The Dreamer?
I am one of Joseph's brothers.

What has been the most interesting or challenging part about portraying your character?

It has been interesting developing my character's personality and thinking about what it would be like to do  what Joseph's brothers did selling him off into slavery and then years later receiving forgiveness from him and seeing how God took a bad situation and used it for good to save everyone.

Which scene is your favorite and why?

I enjoy the finale when the whole family is reunited and reconciled with each other. It is very sweet.

Why do you think audiences should see The Dreamer?

Miss Julianna has done an amazing job portraying the story of Joseph in a impactful and lighthearted way that is entertaining to audience members of all ages.

The Dreamer is choreographed by Julianna Rubio Slager and co-choreographed by instructors at the School of Ballet 5:8. See it May 28-29, 2022 at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, IL.
