Jessica says:

One of my favorite hair-styles for class and rehearsal is the classic tuck.

I love the elegant twists the styles makes and the line it creates for the dancer. I am also a huge fan of how quick and easy it is! This style is also a great option for dancers with shorter hair - A few summers ago when I cut my hair this became my go-to hairstyle!

Here’s how to do it:

-       Begin by gathering your hair into a low pony-tail.

-       Using your fingers or a comb, create a small gap directly above your ponytail holder and allow the ponytail to loosen slightly. Do not separate the two sides entirely, you want to create a small “pouch” you can flip your ponytail into.

-       Taking the remainder of your ponytail, begin to gently tuck it into the gap you created. Here you have the basic shape of your tuck! Use bobby pins to secure the shape.

-       At this point you will notice loose hair on the sides of your face. This is exactly what you want to create your twists! Take the loose hairs and twist them inward, pinning as you go. You will see twists form.

-       Repeat on the other side.

-       Hairspray and add pins where needed. Your tuck is complete!
