Creating The Dreamer | Margaret Fitz

Ballet 5:8 Trainee Margaret Fitz shares about becoming her character in The Dreamer, which premieres May 28 at Lincoln-Way West High School.

Q: Who is your character in The Dreamer?

A: Simeon

Q: What has been the most interesting or challenging part about portraying your character?

A: Its been challenging getting into the mindset of being a brother who would sell his own flesh and blood into slavery. Becoming the character has been a unique challenge!

Q: Which scene is your favorite and why?

A: My favorite part had been the interaction with my fellow dancers in the scenes as we are playing our characters, getting to know each other that way, and playing off of each other.

Q: Why do you think audiences should see The Dreamer?

A: The premiere of The Dreamer is not to be missed, you will go through the story of Joseph with beautiful choreography and storytelling.

The Dreamer is choreographed by Julianna Rubio Slager and co-choreographed by instructors at the School of Ballet 5:8. See it May 28-29, 2022 at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, IL.
