We are happy to announce that Ballet 5:8 Solo Artist Jessica Lohr is our next Featured Guest at the School of Ballet 5:8!

For the next ten weeks, she will share inspiration, encouragement, and insight for dancers. Be on the lookout for these Pro Tips starting next week. In the meantime, let's get to know Jessica!

Jessica Lohr grew up in Houston, Texas where she began her dance training at age seven. Jessica was accepted into The Washington Ballet’s Professional Training Program where she danced in productions of Don Quixote, Etudes, and The Nutcracker. In 2014, Jessica joined Ballet Magnificat as a trainee and was promoted to the Events Company the next year. During her two years with the Events Company, Jessica had the opportunity to tour to Honduras, Guam, and East Asia. Jessica joined Ballet 5:8 in 2017 as a Company Apprentice, was promoted to Company Artist in 2018, and then Solo Artist in 2020.

Jessica premiered a principal role as Helga Hošková-Weissová in Julianna Rubio Slager’s critically acclaimed Butterfly. She also debuted the principal pas de deux in Philia for Slager’s Golden Sessions. Jessica’s accomplishments as the head of the Beverly Campus and the new Co-Director of the Children’s Division also speak for themselves in the contagious joy and diligence of her many students.
